A Birthday Tribute to My Mom

A few years ago I posted a birthday tribute to my mom, and she favored me for about a month, so I'm going to post another one.  I'm not a good writer, so I'll put in a list a few of the things I love about my mom.  Sorry Mom if they are repeats.

1.  She is a very kind, compassionate person.  She is very forgiving.
2.  She is very easy to talk to. 
3.  She is not judgmental.  She doesn't think she is better than anybody.
4.  I think it is so funny that every time I see her she asks me if I can tell that she's gained or lost five pounds.
5.  She does her hair and make-up every day.  She would never leave the house in pajamas. 
6.  She always keeps a spotless house.
7.  She is an excellent cook.
8.  She has an amazing sense of style.  She likes things before they are in fashion.
9.  She listens to a song over and over until you never want to hear it again.
10.  She is very fun to be with.  All of her grandkids adore her.
11.  She has never missed a birthday of anybody in our family, and she is very thoughtful.
12.  She hates animals and pets and gags when she is around my cat.
13.  I will always appreciate her teaching me how to be a hard worker and to pray every day.

Happy Birthday mom.  You don't look a day older than 39 (not 40).  Love you.

Here are some things that Jayce loves about her Maama.

1.  She is funny.
2.  She spoils me.
3.  We have fun sleepovers.
4.  She takes me fun places.
5.  She comes and visits us more than anybody else.
6.  She is so pretty.

Wyoming

We have relocated again- to Wyoming this time.  If I lived in a trailer, my life would have come full circle (when I was a baby we lived in a trailer in Wyoming, while my dad worked in a coal mine).  I'm actually just fine with the move.  I loved Pueblo West, and loved the people we met, our ward, and my Young Women's calling; but I didn't love the town and the schools.  So, while I am sad to leave the wonderful people, I'm excited to start the newest chapter in our lives. 

So far we love Wyoming.  We have visited some cool historical sites, and some beautiful trails.  Sami came to visit me before she leaves on her mission to Paris, France, and my mom and Kevin just visited us.  We are a few hours closer to home, so hopefully more family will visit us as well.  Hint hint.  Not that I'm complaining; pretty much all of our families visited us in Pueblo West. 

We are looking forward to a fun summer.  We are living in a pretty nice apartment complex.  I worked out in the gym today for the first time in forever.  The pool opened today, and the hot tub is open year-long, so we went swimming today.  It was cold and windy outside, so we were the only people there.  The pool was heated and the hot tub was VERY hot, so it was great!  I can't wait to hang out at the pool all summer, and start exercising again.

Girls' Haircuts

Both girls got a haircut this week.  This was Claire's first haircut.  She cried the whole time.  I was getting my haircut at the same time, and she was sobbing for me.  I think she looks so cute!

I cut Jayce's hair by myself.  I bought some shears, and I'm trying to practice so I can cut both girls' hair all the time.  You can really tell when it's not round-brushed that it's amateur.  Hopefully I get better at it.  Blake won't let me cut his hair ever.

We Painted Our House

We just painted our house.  I wish we did it when we moved in, so we could have enjoyed it.  I think it looks really nice.  Hopefully renters will like it, too. It took us two weeks, and was a lot of hard work!

The missionaries were kind enough to help us paint.  I felt bad having them help, but they said they love to do service projects.

I'm excited to move to Wyoming in a couple weeks, but I'll be sad to leave our house and Pueblo West.
