Funny little Jayce

Here are a couple of funny things that Jayce has said lately.

Jayce wasn't minding very well today, so when I went to the gas station and she asked me for a treat I said no.  She asked why and I said, "What do you think?"  Between tears she said, "Because I'm bad, I don't deserve it, my body doesn't need it, and you don't want me to have it."  Needless to say, I ended up buying it for her.  She is pretty good at working her mommy.

A couple weeks ago when we were watching conference she said, "Mom, if you back-sass the prophet, then you're back-sassing Heavenly Father."

I wish I wrote down more of the funny things she said when she was little.  She comes up with some funny things.  The other day she told me her and her best buddy Ammon are the only kids in her class that know there is no such thing as boy or girl colors.  Girls can like blue and boys can like pink.  They are just colors.  Right you are Jayce!

Jayce learned about Amelia Earhart at school and she is her new hero.  She said Amelia was smarter than all the boys.  She told Blake and I that Amelia used to fight for women's rights.  She said, "Did you know they used to not let women do anything?  Now we can do anything we want.  I can even be president if I want!"  I have no doubt that she could be.

Who's That Cute Baby in the Mirror & Thanksgiving Point

Claire loves to look at herself in the mirror.  She thinks that baby in the mirror is the cutest thing she's ever seen.
This Saturday we went to Thanksgiving Point with Coley and her boys and Lyndsy and her girls.  The Tulip Festival was going on, and everything was so beautiful.
Poor Blake had his eyes shut in every picture.  He said I don't know what it's like to have light green eyes.  I guess the lighter your eyes are the more sensitive they are to light, because I can handle sunlight much better than Blake can.  Jayce swears she can look directly into the sun, but I don't know about that.
The kids loved the fish pond.  They let you feed little pellets to the fish.  I thought the fish were pretty gross looking.
That little thing is Jayce rolling down the hill.
The twins love Claire.  They are going to have so much fun with their baby brother.
Uncle Blake likes to put babies up in trees!
I feel like such a bad mom because I forgot to put sunblock on Claire.  Her poor little face and head got burned!

Claire is 6 months old!

Baby Claire is 6 months old now.  Even though she is pretty chunky, she is pretty small.
Her length is 32.61 %tile (25.5").  Her weight is 22.51 %tile (14.95 lbs).  Her head is kind of big- 58.66 %tile.

Her aunt Lyndsy just took her pictures again.  They are my favorite yet.  I can't choose which one I like best.  Everybody let me know which one you want me to print for you.

Jayce's spotlight poster/ Brooks driving

Everybody clear the roads- Brooksy has his learner's permit!
I was a little bit shocked when he pulled up in an Escalade.  My mom is so much more laid back than when I was 16.  I don't think we made it down the street before I freaked her out and she made me trade her places.

This week Jayce was spotlighted in her school class so we had to make a poster.  I was pretty proud of my creativity.  We took pictures of her shaped like the letters in her name, then we printed them, cut them out, and pasted them on.
Here are some close-ups of our "Jayce" alphabet letters.
The "Y" is my favorite.

I can't believe Claire is 1/2 year old now!  She is rolling all over the floor to get where she wants to go.  She kind of scoots, but only a few feet at a time.  It is so funny because when Jayce was her age she was scooting, crawling, and cruising around the room holding onto furniture.  I'm glad it has taken Claire longer.  She does have a lot of energy, though!  I just wish she would get some hair!

Blake and Papa Don went and saw a UFC fight last week.  They are with UFC fighter Josh Burkman in this picture.  Blake works with his stepmom.
